I went to 神田GOTARU for my last night in Tokyo. I did not have many expectations but it ended up being the highlight of my trip! I sat at the counter and got recommendations from two guests sitting next to me who knew the place well. It was my first time eating sashimi and it was delicious! I wish I had tried more of their dishes, everything looked good! They also have a large selection of sake. I talked and laughed a lot with the two other guests and the owner of the restaurant, in Japanese mostly but the owner can understand some English so no worries! And they have English on their menu. It was such an unexpected encounter and I'm really glad I entered this restaurant before leaving Tokyo. I will definitely come back! I recommend to anyone wanting an authentic but chill izakaya experience with very nice people and quality food.
