福本 is an absolute gem for anyone craving incredible unagi rice (鳗鱼饭)! The unagi is perfectly cooked, and packed with authentic flavor. It is no surprise that this restaurant has so many positive feedback reviews on Google Maps. The atmosphere inside the shop is fantastic and has a really nostalgic 60s-70s feel, complete with a TV showing music videos of the scenic Enoden Railway (江之電鐵路). Inside the shop, they keep a collection of written review notebooks where previous guests share their stories. If the owner knows you are a foreigner, he will warmly hand these books to you so you can read the wonderful experiences of global travelers and leave your own message. It makes the meal feel incredibly personal, welcoming, and retro. An unforgettable dining experience that you cannot miss! Better do a booking before go to enjoy more choices of the menu.
