Fresh and Tasty Japanese Cuisine Near Southern Branch of National Palace Museum! I discovered Chih Ri Restaurant (築日食堂) while searching for a highly-rated dining spot near the National Palace Museum Southern Branch. I arrived around 1:00 PM and was lucky to get a table without waiting, but I noticed that many popular items on the menu were already sold out by then. The food quality is definitely above average—the ingredients tasted very fresh and the dishes were prepared with great care. The restaurant is quite cozy with limited seating, which adds to its charm but means it can fill up quickly. My recommendation for visitors: If you are planning a trip to the National Palace Museum, I highly suggest eating here before you start your museum tour. If you wait until later in the afternoon, many of their best dishes might be gone! It’s a great local gem that offers a much better meal than typical tourist food.
