We chanced upon this quaint eatery while in Hakuba, and it is no less than a great find. The owner is extremely friendly and can converse in great English. The food we had was amazingly good—the dumplings, the cucumber with miso, the edamame, and the spicy miso ramen. It was so good that my wife and I had two tokkuri of junmai and nigori each. What is even more amazing and brings back memories of the old days are the classic Japanese songs playing in the background, including enka. I will definitely be back, hopefully to experience it all again during the winter season. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is without a doubt my favorite ramen spot in Hakuba. They serve an absolutely incredible spicy miso ramen — honestly the best spicy miso ramen I’ve had anywhere in Japan. Every time I visit Hakuba, I always make sure to come back here. It’s one of those special places that instantly wins you over. A small mountain ramen restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere, a truly local vibe, and very friendly service. The whole place feels authentic, cozy, and full of charm — especially perfect after a day in the mountains. If you love ramen, you definitely shouldn’t miss this place. For me, it’s one of the most magical and memorable spots in Hakuba! Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
