I order malay laksa everytime. It was a 9/10 when they first started business. Flavourful soup, 3 shrimp, 3 fishballs etc Now the soup is tasteless, 2 shrimp and fishballs. Served me yellow noodle when I ordered a mix of vermicelli & yellow noodle. I guess that’s how it is and very obvious how this restaurant would end up Meal type: Lunch Price per person: HK$50–100 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

作為一個油塘人, 住在一個真正的美食地獄之中, 渴望的只是一家人有特色一點, 味道正常一點的餐廳就好. 茶記研究所雖說是茶餐廳, 但用上硏究所為名, 再加上負責的LITM團隊的餐廳也算是有一定好評, 所以有所期待, 但吃罷只能說是繼續努力, 特別是開張時的食物安排甚為混亂, 等一個沙嗲牛肉牛肉炒公仔麵差不多四十分鐘, 作為茶記真的不太OK, 而且沒太多鑊氣, 也有點油膩, 沙嗲醬太鹹, 牛肉肉質正常, 但總體來說不合格. 之後第二次的蒽油雞扒蛋飯, 問題也是差不多, 蒽油太鹹, 吃起來有點吃力, 再加上外皮不夠脆的雞扒, 唯一見到誠意的是日本蛋的甜美蛋黃, 但不夠拉回合格的分數啊! 以為可以將這地區由地獄拉回來, 但真的不太行. As a Yau Tong resident, living in a true food paradise, all I crave for is a unique and decently tasty restaurant to dine with my family. Although ChaKee Lab is a tea restaurant, its name and the reputation of its responsible LITM team have raised my expectations. However, my experience there was just average and the food arrangement during its opening was chaotic. It took almost 40 minutes for my Satay Beef Fried Instant Noodles to arrive, which was not up to the standard of a tea restaurant. The dish was not flavorful and a bit greasy, with overly salty satay sauce and mediocre beef quality. The second dish I tried, the Baked Pork Chop with Egg Rice, had the same issue with the overly salty sauce and the chicken chop lacked crispiness. The only redeeming factor was the sweet and creamy yolk of the Japanese egg. Sadly, it was not enough to save the overall dining experience. Despite hoping that this restaurant could bring the area out of its food hell, it falls short of expectations.
