I’m honestly not sure what all the hype is about Ko Bo. Despite being packed every night, our experience was underwhelming, and we left wishing we’d chosen somewhere else. It feels like the popularity may be more about the limited restaurant options in Hakuba during peak ski season rather than the quality of the food itself. The dishes were very basic and surprisingly substandard. The takoyaki was overly salty and, incredibly, had no octopus inside, which was disappointing. The teriyaki chicken lacked flavour and depth, with a thin, uninspiring sauce. Overall, most of the food was quite bland, and we left feeling heavy rather than satisfied. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the authentic or memorable Japanese dining experience we were hoping for. Wouldn’t return. Price per person: ¥5,000–6,000 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
