I was on my 10-day trip in Taipei and had this for lunch on day 9. I considered it my top 3 meals - really glad my local friend brought me here. My friend did the ordering so I was not sure of all the names but you can order according to my photos. Best goose I ever had - love the juiciness of the meat, smoky flavour and the appropriate meat and fat ratio. All those 熱炒 items were so delicious! For me Taiwanese dishes are usually blander than how I wanted it to be but this place appropriately satisfied my cravings - it’s not salty, the flavour is just right. I loved it so much I had it again as takeaway the next day. I strongly recommend every tourist to visit this place to really taste the authentic local flavour aside from night market street food and Din Tai Fung. I actually liked this better than Din Tai Fung. I must say this place might not be the best environment and that they might have inconsistent customer service. It is however a clean eatery offering extraordinary heartwarming food with strong local characters which I personally appreciate the most. You get the real Taiwanese flavour with wok hei （鍋氣）cooked by experienced cook (and goose expert). Apparently the goose fat they use in the dishes is the secret ingredient for this amazing experience. I understand that the founder of this little shop was the executive chef of a famous Taiwanese hotel before he started this family business many years ago. I suggest visiting during non peak hours if speed and customer service are important for you. If you are a foodie like myself, this is not a place you would want to miss. It will surely be a destination the next time I visit Taipei again. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
