A place that uses freshly slaughtered Korean beef (Hanwoo) tripe every day, the essence of gopchang, “Gangnam Gop”, a 6-year consecutive Blue Ribbon restaurant It’s already a famous gopchang spot in Gangnam, featured on many TV programs such as Lee Young-ja’s restaurant list, Heo Young-man’s Baekban Travel, Wednesday Food Talk, The Must-Try Restaurants, Omniscient Interfering View, and even Sung Si-kyung & Director Matsuda. For me, it has already become a place I keep coming back to. I love it so much it’s honestly so good that I couldn’t help visiting again. Since 2009, “Gop Gangnam Branch” has been consistently loved and is often considered one of the top 3 gopchang restaurants in Seoul. So why do so many people come here? They use only fresh Hanwoo tripe from cattle slaughtered the same day, and a patented natural fruit tenderizing method gives the gopchang a soft texture and deep, rich flavor. The gopchang is never pre-boiled or pre-fried. It’s grilled immediately after you order, so you can enjoy the true, fresh flavor of premium gopchang. Even the side dishes like green onion kimchi and sauces are made in-house, which makes the meal even better. Start with the assorted grilled platter, then try the homemade garlic gopchang made with Uiseong garlic (literally an amazing combination of garlic aroma and rich gopchang ). And don’t miss the Buldak fried noodles lightly stir-fried in the gopchang oil. The spicy and savory flavors together are surprisingly addictive! Grill some of their homemade green onion kimchi as well, place a piece of gopchang on top, and take a bite Wow it’s honestly a moment of pure happiness. And of course, you can’t skip drinks with this food! Cucumber Soju & Premium Soju This pairing perfectly refreshes the richness of the gopchang. Especially the cucumber soju, which goes incredibly well with it. They also allow corkage, so you can bring your favorite alcohol and enjoy it with the meal. It’s already popular among international visitors, and when you visit, you’ll often notice that one out of three tables is filled with foreign guests. If you’re looking for proper Hanwoo gopchang in Gangnam, this is definitely a place worth visiting. Just keep in mind that waiting is almost guaranteed, so it’s best to make a reservation or visit with extra time.
