Rather unimpressive from the outside, I entered today after passing by this coffee shop for almost 3 years. And I must say that my prejudices were quiet unjustified! The European style leather couches are not only very comfy and cozy to sink in, but together with the large chandelier at the high floors, they give this store a nostaltic touch with old European flair. Very individualistic but not "cutsie Helloy Kitty style", the atmosphere of this coffee shop is quiet distinct and nice. I ordered a Patbingsu. The taste was rather mediocre but the price was ok with 8.000 KRW. There was just nothing special. The milky snow ice was good but I think they just scooped out the red bean paste right out of a can. It was quiet dense (how it usually is when you take it out right out of the can) and hence difficult to mix with the snow ice. If i owned a coffee shop, i would probably give the paste a bit of a a good mix/stir prior to placing it on top of the snow ice or mix it with some liquid, so it is not just one dense "bulk" on top of the snow ice. Red bean paste is good if it is dense and intense in taste when you find it in pastry, rice cake or Bungeo Bbang. But not on Batbingsoo. I do expect such refined details when ordering food in a restaurant. The only reason i am still giving 4 stars overall is because of the ambiente and interior decoration. Neither the food nor the staff really convinced me. Cannot say that the staff was really friendly. To be honest, the lady seemed rather unmotivated .... i would say that the service is rather on the unfriedlier side. All in all, it is an enrichment for my neighbourhood to have this coffee shop. I prefer such stores a hundred times over larger coffee chains that have no soul and individual touch. Price per person: ₩1–10,000 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
Price per person: ₩1–10,000 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
