Self-claimed Italian restaurant that doesn’t live up to the standard. If you’ve been to an actual Italin restaurant before, you’ll find yourself confused and disappointed, especially at this high price point ($70,000 won, about $50 for two). Served two pieces of toasted white bread as side bread, along with tiny bit of olive oil that has been out on the table for who knows how long. Followed by a prawn bisque pasta, that literally had one prawn head and one tiny frozen shrimp in the pasta. The sauce was supposed to be a blend of tomato and cream sauce, but tasted close to a tteokbokki sauce. The portion was fairly small with no real toppings or protein inside. Also had a weird choice of cheese, covering the whole plate (think it was melted mozarella). The second dish was a black truffle pizza. The dough was soggy and and slightly burnt on the side. The pizza had a sunny side up egg in the middle for some reason. The overall taste was quite bland. Although the service and atmosphere was nice, I think the chef needs to do a bit more study on what he’s trying to do. There are plenty of other Italian restaurants nearby. Just had an outstanding meal at Casa Italy (Casa Italia) near Gyeongbokgung in Seochon. I ordered the ricotta cheese salad and the truffle cream gnocchi, and honestly, this was the best pasta I’ve had in the area. The gnocchi was perfectly soft and pillowy, coated in a rich, aromatic truffle cream that wasn’t overly heavy — every bite was pure comfort with that deep, earthy truffle flavor shining through. The ricotta salad was fresh and well-balanced, a nice light start that didn’t overpower the main. I’m packing their Casa Ragu pasta to go so I can enjoy it later. If you’re around Gyeongbokgung or wandering Seochon and craving solid Italian, this place delivers. Highly recommend the truffle cream gnocchi. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
