July 2026 Daegu is often considered one of Korea's best cities for jjamppong, and Daedong Banjeom has long been recognized as one of Daegu's three legendary jjamppong restaurants. Unlike many famous jjamppong restaurants that emphasize a strong smoky wok flavor, Daedong Banjeom is known for its clean, rich, and well-balanced seafood broth. The soup is deeply flavorful without being greasy, and the chewy noodles absorb every bit of that delicious broth. Every bowl is generously filled with squid, pork, fresh vegetables, and other ingredients, making it satisfying from the first bite to the last. The fried dumplings (gun mandu) are another must-try. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, they pair perfectly with the spicy jjamppong and are popular with both locals and visitors. If you're planning a food trip to Daegu, I highly recommend starting with one of the city's three legendary jjamppong restaurants: Daegu's Three Legendary Jjamppong Restaurants Daedong Banjeom – Famous for its clean and flavorful seafood broth. 49 Daehyeon-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu Gayaseong – Well known for its rich seafood flavor and long-standing local reputation. 186-10 Seongseo-ro, Dalseo-gu, Daegu Jinhung Banjeom – A traditional restaurant with over 50 years of history, serving classic jjamppong loved by generations. 43-2 Ihyeon 2-gil, Nam-gu, Daegu I've visited many jjamppong restaurants over the years, and Daedong Banjeom is definitely one I'll happily return to. If you're visiting Daegu, this is an authentic local food experience you shouldn't miss. Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000
