Stumbled upon this joint and was one of our favour meals in Seoul! The mandus were big and juicy and the perilla buckwheat noodles were one of the best we’ve had. It’s a new pyeongyang-style naengmyeon restaurant in Seong Su. The owner, @sexy_pigk of this restaurant is one the contestants in a Netflix Korean culinary competition series, Culinary Class Wars. 대엽大燁 literally means great shining. It’s a business catchphrase of the restaurant that they serve large and shining naengmyeon. Naengmyeon literally means Korean cold noodles. First-time diners of Pyeongyang noodles may wonder about the water-like broth, because it tastes quite different from regular cold noodles. But the best way to enjoy it is to drink the broth first.
