The short: Best Shabu I had in Korea (among the same price range) and I lived in Korea for 6 years + over 10 visits since I left. The long: We didn't have any expectation when we dined here, it was the only restaurant next to emart. We were reluctant at first cause they have very limited menu but our kid was hungry so we went in just right on the dot (last order is 9PM) and the one auntie there was really kind! She let us in and served us food. The auntie staff was really kind, we were the last table and she helped us patiently. Shabu was flavorful! Broth was nice, vegetables were fresh and remain crunchy, beef was on the lean side and very little fat but easy to eat. The sauce was tangy (think slightly sweet ponzu) and the kalguksu noodle was chewy with great texture. But the star was the fried rice! It was so simple and so good! The rice has very balance texture and it absorbed the soup so well! The way it fried using the Shabu pot created the crust which we loved! We dined at 5 Micheline-recommended places during this trip and haven't written any reviews for any of them. This Shabu place in Songdo has exceeded all expectations and it will be a shame to keep it to ourselves! Soft drinks are complimentary too!
