A true locals restaurant with great food. I travel the world a lot due to my work, and I'm blessed to see the sights and try the cusines of the area I'm at. Google maps is apparently restricted by law in Korea. That explains why it is so underutilized compared to places like Bangkok or Saigon. The restaurant "RAKU" is a small mom and pop business. She's the cook the server and the owner of the place. FOOD: This place is outstanding. It seems to be a fusion between japanese and korean food. She has a large selection of Katsu's with rice or noodles or kimchi stew, deep fried shrimps, and croquets. LOCATION: A 5 minute walk from the Subway station. (ORANGE LINE 3 연신내 OR YEONSINNAE sta.) This is right where the Orange line intersects with the Brown 6 Line exit number 5 or 4 ATMOSPHERE: This is an absolute hole in the wall. Probably has max occupancy of 8 people. And it feels very cramped if there's actually 8 people in there at a time. Do not expect a starbucks like atmosphere. The place seems old and dare I say it, looks cheap. But I think the lady tries her hardest to keep the place very clean. WIFI: I am certain that tourists would really appreciate this place has wifi because, more than likely, you do not have roaming. This place has fast wifi connection. This should go without saying to any korean person, but apparently, in other parts of the world, free WIFI is a luxury, whereas in Korea, fast WIFI is just the norm. LANGUAGE: The owner of this restaurant does not seem to speak english. Also, the menus have zero pictures. I think this could be very intimidating and a challenge for foreigners to approach this restaurant. I am gonna keep updating this review periodcally with new photos of the menu item as I order them. Just point and use universal sign language. Conclusion: This is an outstanding restaurant. A majority of the people that come here are returning customers. That should be proof that this is one of those restaurants that you keep coming back for more meaning. You don't get sick of the food. If you're the type of person who likes fine atmosphere over good food, you are not gonna like this place. If you get the windows seat and gaze outside while you're eating, you almoat get the feeling you're eating out of a very clean garage. If you're the type of person that likes new experiences and other people's countries, kinda like those digital nomads on YouTube. I think you're gonna like this place.
