Stopped by Ruby Tteokbokki (루비떡볶이) with my wife after finishing some errands nearby, and it turned out to be a satisfying little find. The tteokbokki (떡볶이) was definitely the highlight — rich, flavorful, and had a good kick of spice. Personally, I don’t handle spicy food that well, so it was a bit much for me on its own, but pairing it with soondae (순대) and twigim (튀김, Korean-style fried snacks) balanced things out nicely. We tried the Saeukkang Tteokbokki (새우깡 떡볶이), and the crispy shrimp flakes (새우튀김가루) sprinkled on top added a unique twist — not only enhancing the flavor but also softening the heat just a bit. The atmosphere was simple but neat and well-kept — nothing too fancy, but exactly what you’d expect and want from a casual bunsik (분식, Korean snack food) spot. It felt clean and organized, which made the experience comfortable. As for service, the owner on site during our visit was warm and friendly, which always adds to the experience, especially in small eateries like this. All in all, if you enjoy bold, spicy Korean street food with a fun twist, Ruby Tteokbokki (루비떡볶이) is worth a visit.
