I recently visited Baegane Restaurant in Cheongsong and had their signature Neungi Baeksuk (black mushroom chicken soup). The deep mushroom aroma and perfectly cooked chicken made it one of the best traditional meals I’ve ever had. Sadly, a wildfire recently swept through this area, and Baegane, along with two other nearby restaurants, was completely destroyed. The owner’s son mentioned that they plan to reopen soon as a beef restaurant—but the famous Neungi Baeksuk will no longer be served. If you want to experience this incredible taste one last time, now is the time to visit. This place is truly a hidden gem, and it deserves to be remembered.
