I visited Baekil Kalguksu Sokcho because I was craving spicy Jang-kalguksu, and it turned out to be an exceptional dining choice. Their signature Jang-kalguksu features a wonderfully thick and rich broth that coats the noodles perfectly, delivering deep flavors. The spicy kalguksu we also ordered was packed with fresh seafood, offering a distinctly refreshing yet fiery depth. However, the overall heat level is spicier than Shin Ramyun, so it builds up quite a kick. For those who struggle with spicy food, it might feel a bit overwhelmingly hot, so keep that in mind. Thankfully, the fried mandu serves as the perfect remedy; the dumplings are incredibly crispy on the outside and generously filled, making a fantastic combination when dipped into the spicy broth. While it was a sweat-inducing meal, I can confidently recommend this spot to anyone searching for an authentic, bold Jang-kalguksu in Sokcho. If the spice feels daunting, ordering the perilla seed kalguksu or another mild menu(Mild Menu) option on your next visit would be a smart and balanced alternative! 국물이 담백하다기보다는 아쉽다는 느낌이 더 강했습니다. 김치도 괜찮았고, 면과 만두도 잘 만들어졌는데, 정작 국물에서 기대했던 감칠맛이 많이 약해서 제겐 싱겁게 느껴졌어요. 뭔가 맛있는 고기를 쌈장이 아니라 시판 고추장에 찍어 먹는 듯한 느낌이었습니다. 저도 그렇고 칼국수를 남기고 가는 분들도 꽤 보이더라고요. 그리고 스테인리스 그릇에 국물도 많아서 먹는 내내 너무 뜨거웠습니다. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Dont remember how I found this place but WOW probably the best kalguksu I ever had in a long time. Noodles portion were so big, worth the price! Dumplings were bomb too!
