Donkey and I were cycling along the route looking for a good place to have dinner. There are not many restaurants listed on Google Maps in this area. On top of that it was Sunday and most of the few places there were were closed. We saw one nearby place serving fish stew but we had already eaten fish for lunch so we wanted to find something else. We went to a convenience store first to buy mineral water for our ride the next day while keeping an eye out for any places to eat along the way. We were so lucky to find this hidden place. It has almost no information online at all, no ratings and only two pictures which do not even show the food. We decided to give it a try and it turned out to be one of the best meals we have had on our whole trip. We ordered the signature Galbitang for two people at 16000 won and Spicy Beef Rice Soup at 10000 won. Both dishes were full of flavour and smelled amazing. I loved the rib soup especially, it had a rich natural taste that came straight from the meat and it was even better when we used the special sauce the owner recommended to us. Every bite was tasty filling and smelled great. The second soup was just as good and fragrant. I noticed it seemed to use the same high quality broth as the rib soup with chilli oil added to make it nicely spicy. The owner welcomed us with the warmest most genuine kindness. He is a very humble man and you could see in every conversation and in how he made and served our food that everything was done with real care and heart. This is not a place for tourists but a special local spot where people from the area come to eat healthy well made meals. The place is not fancy or decorated in a modern way but it is clean comfortable and welcoming in every way. The owner looked after us the whole time we were there. He came to our table often to tell us about each dish and his own special recipes and sauces in his own way since he does not speak English well. He asked where we had come from and when he found out we were from Singapore he was really happy. He told us excitedly about his own trip to our country before. We felt so welcome and important like we were guests in his own home. Since no one speaks English here we used translation apps to talk to each other but it was not a problem at all. Every part of our experience from how good the food was to how warm and honest the service was deserves a perfect five star rating. It is not often you find a place where the food is made with so much passion and where people are so sincerely friendly without trying to be something they are not. This is exactly the kind of hidden treasure you hope to find when you travel. It gave us great food and an experience we will never forget. We would tell every traveller and cyclist passing through this area to come here. Do not worry that there are no online reviews or that the place looks simple this is real local food at its very best. Rating Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Kitty and I were cycling along the route, searching for a suitable place for dinner. There are very few restaurants listed on Google Maps in this locality. Furthermore, it was a Sunday, and most of the limited establishments available were closed. We noticed one nearby eatery serving fish stew, yet we had already enjoyed a fish based meal earlier that day, and preferred to choose something different. We cycled towards a convenience store first, to purchase mineral water in preparation for our ride the following day, whilst keeping a lookout for any dining venue along the way. We were exceptionally fortunate to discover this hidden gem. It had almost no online presence at all, with no ratings whatsoever and only two photographs displayed, none of which showed the food itself. We decided to try it, and it proved to be one of the finest experiences we have had throughout our journey. We ordered the signature Galbitang for two persons at 16,000 won, and Spicy Beef Rice Soup at 10,000 won. Both dishes were exceptionally flavoursome and aromatic. I particularly enjoyed the rib soup, it carried a rich, natural depth of flavour and fragrance derived from the meat itself, and tasted even more exquisite when paired with the special sauce which the proprietor personally recommended. Every mouthful was savoury, hearty and full of aroma. The second soup was equally delicious and fragrant. Kitty observed that it appeared to share the same high quality broth base as the rib soup, enhanced with chilli oil to create a pleasant spicy note. We were received with the most genuine and heartfelt hospitality by the owner, a remarkably humble gentleman. It was evident in every interaction, and in the way food was prepared and served, that everything is done with great sincerity, care and affection. This is not a venue tailored for tourists, but a cherished local establishment where residents come to enjoy wholesome, well cooked meals. The premises are not elaborately decorated or stylish, yet they are clean, cosy and comfortable, simple and welcoming in every respect. The owner remained attentive throughout our meal. He regularly approached our table to explain each dish and his own special recipes and sauces in his own unique way as he is not fluent in English. He enquired where we had travelled from, and upon learning we were visitors from Singapore, he became visibly delighted and enthusiastically described his own travels and experiences whilst visiting our country previously. We felt truly welcomed and valued, much like guests in a family home. As English is not spoken here, we relied upon translation applications to communicate, yet this caused no difficulty whatsoever. Every element of our experience, from the quality of the food to the warmth and integrity of the service, fully merits a perfect five‑star rating. It is rare to encounter an establishment where food is prepared with such passion, and where hospitality remains so sincere and unpretentious. This is precisely the kind of hidden treasure one hopes to discover whilst travelling. It provided us with excellent nourishment and a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend this restaurant to every traveller and cyclist passing through this area. Do not be deterred by the lack of online reviews or modest appearance, as this represents authentic local dining at its absolute best.
