I visited 별당막국수 and tried one of Chuncheon’s must-eat local dishes, makguksu. The buckwheat noodles were refreshing and flavorful, especially when mixed well with the sauce. I also ordered jeonbyeong (Korean buckwheat crepe), which paired really well with the noodles. The combination made for a very satisfying local meal. Makguksu is one of the signature foods of Chuncheon, and this place is a good spot to try it. The flavors are not too heavy or spicy, so I think both Koreans and foreign visitors can enjoy it easily. If you’re visiting Chuncheon, trying makguksu here with jeonbyeong is definitely worth it. Check out my profile for more travel and food reviews.
