I stopped by Viola Coffee during a visit to Sokcho Beach, and it’s a lovely little spot to grab a drink while enjoying the ocean views. Whether you’re out for a morning walk or catching the sunset, it’s a convenient and scenic place to pause and recharge. The interior is clean, modern, and well-kept, making it a comfortable place to relax for a bit. It has a calm vibe that pairs nicely with the beach atmosphere just outside. One thing to note—especially if you’re not familiar with café culture in Korea—is that there are some unspoken rules. Typically, you’re expected to decide upfront whether you’re dining in or taking your drink to go. If you plan to sit inside, it’s customary to order one drink per person, as you’re essentially paying for your seat. There’s also an expectation not to stay too long, as cafés often prioritize table turnover. We tried the Chodang corn latte, which was unique and worth a try if you’re looking for something different. However, we made the mistake of ordering our drinks to go and then sitting down anyway. Even though the café was fairly empty, we were asked shortly after to either leave or order another drink if we wanted to continue sitting inside. Overall, it’s a nice café with a great location and good drinks, but just be mindful of the local café etiquette to avoid any awkward moments. I ordered a hot sea salt latte and it suits my taste but they aren't really friendly because the person who attended me looks at me like she was disgusted of me maybe because i was wearing a hijab which usually happens among south korean who are not accustomed to a hijabi women. Nonetheless, it was okay. Price per person: ₩1–10,000 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5
