A great place to stop for some food during your shopping trip in Seongsu and a very popular place among locals (we were the only foreigners when we visited). The budae-jjigae was very flavourful, and each order comes with free-flow coffee and slushies, ramyeon and kimchi sides. The staff were also very friendly and helped us cook our budae-jjigae given we were foreigners. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The budae jjigae here is absolutely delicious—rich, spicy, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of dish that makes you keep reaching for more rice without even realizing it. The side dishes—kimchi, pickled radish (takuan), and a mysterious brown one—are all free and refillable. I’m not exactly sure what that brown one was, but it ended up being my favorite. For a bit of context, budae jjigae (often called “army stew”) originated after the Korean War, when people created hearty meals using surplus ingredients from U.S. military bases, like sausages and spam, combined with traditional Korean flavors like kimchi and gochujang. If you’re in Seongsu and craving something comforting and filling, this is definitely a great spot to check out. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Delish! Umlimited rice and instant noodle refills. The broth was just oh so delightful. Clean environment and flavours too. Consistent flow of customers for a reason. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
