Had kimchi jiggae that is perfectly suited to my taste. A perfect blend of spicy and sour in a flavorful broth with tender pork, skin on. There were lots of delicious banchan. The greens, mixed with sesame oil, is from some sort of flower. Don’t know what the flower is, just that as a side dish, it’s super yummy. The owner is kind and attentive. I want to come back and try other things on the menu I came back and try 2 more things on the menu. My 2nd time, I had the ChungGuJang, a fermented soybean based stew. The stew itself was a take it or leave it dish, but the variety of banchan served at that time was so outstanding, it made my entire meal. I like it so much, I felt this would be my go to place for meals at Danyang. I went back and tried the pork belly. Sadly, this experience depleted all the goodwill built up for this establishment and I won’t be returning. I wanted to try the pork belly, as there are no 2 order minimum listed like other places. Using Google translate, we established that I am eating solo and can only order for 1. So between my own lack of fluency in Korean and lack of clear communication via google translate, the owner insisted that I could not change my order. The meal itself was tasty. But the meal supplied for 2, banchan plus 2 strips of pork belly, seems paltry for two orders. I decided that I would enjoy my meal and remove this restaurant from any future visits. I felt taken advantage of due to my lack of fluency. But given the past good will, I would at least enjoy this last meal here. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 4 Service: 3
