I visited Seonil Haejang-guk, a budget-friendly hangover soup restaurant located near the university area where you can have a hearty meal. I ordered the extra size this time to enjoy a grander meal, but I realized that even without ordering the extra size, the standard portion is already incredibly generous and substantial thanks to their warm hospitality. For those who are not fond of congealed blood, I really appreciated their thoughtful service where they willingly exclude the ox congealed blood if you request it in advance. The tripe and other assorted organ meats inside the soup were tender, chewy, and completely free of any unpleasant odor. Best of all, the taste was absolutely phenomenal. The soup features a deep and spicy broth that is excellent on its own, but when you customize it by combining the provided condiments like chili oil and seasoning paste, it creates a truly delicious, savory flavor profile. On top of that, you can freely refill your rice and side dishes at the self-service bar. It is a highly recommended spot with unbeatable value, perfect for anyone looking to comfort their stomach with a warm, filling bowl of soup!
