Seven Burgers a Week sounds less like a restaurant name and more like a lifestyle choice your cardiologist should never hear about! The setting is a compact modern American diner, with white walls, black booths, chrome chairs, warm pendant lights, an open kitchen and bold red retro burger posters. Ordering is done through tablets, so the staff are friendly whenever they appear, although most of your relationship is with a touchscreen. The burgers are super yummy, packed into glossy brioche buns with juicy patties, fresh toppings and beautifully melted cheese. The real superstar is the overflowing cheese burger. It arrives sizzling on a hot plate, disappears beneath a dramatic avalanche of molten cheese sauce, then receives a snowfall of grated cheese while steam rises like a burger volcano. Completely excessive, gloriously theatrical and absolutely delicious! The thick golden fries are another triumph, crispy outside, fluffy inside and dangerously easy to finish. The only ingredient that felt missing was a stronger dose of cleanliness. The floor did not feel particularly clean, and the bathrooms needed more attention. These excellent burgers deserve a cleaner stage! I would happily return for the burgers, the fries and another eruption from Mount Cheese, but hopefully the cleaning team will put on an equally impressive performance next time.
