While I was staying in Ilsan for work, I was actively searching for a decent cocktail bar. It was difficult to find one outside of Seoul, where I had already visited Charles H, Bar Zest and Bar Cham. I found a place called Street763 on Naver that looked like it fit the part but I wasn’t sure if it was still there. I walked up to the 3rd floor of La Festa and was relieved to see it is still in business. First, I ordered a Vodka Martini and it tasted like one I would’ve made back at home. Nice and chilled with a single olive. This was a good thing. I had been looking for Martini & Rossi vermouth at all of the local markets and couldn’t find it anywhere. For my second drink I tried the Pina Colada. It was a bit less creamy than is standard but the pineapple was fresh and overall pretty decent. I also ordered the 떡볶이 with some 김마리. It was piping hot and tasty. The bartender was a relatively young Korean guy that was attentive and friendly. It was pretty early (around 5:30pm) so there were just a few other patrons at the bar. I would imagine it gets pretty busy there at night. I am glad there is a legit cocktail bar in La Festa and hope it is there for future visits to Ilsan.
