The burgers are great, the location mysterious, and the service magical. I first found my way here on a Thursday following a rogue Google review. The doors were closed and I wondered how a business could keep their doors open in a hidden corner in Jeju. I swung by a second time and it started to make sense. The owner greeted me like I was his first customer ever. He proudly showed me a menu in English with five or six 'signature' burgers. I was skeptical, so decided to order their most expensive burger. It was worth the price, and I had a great conversation with a couple teachers who had ridden there from the Global Education City. A few more people swung by with big smiles to pick up take out. I came by the next day and ordered a BLT Burger, shake, and Dr. Pepper. When I saw several full tables outside I wondered if it was going to be a long wait. Instead, I got the same warm greeting and service. My corner table from the day before was empty, but I vacated it as the tables filled up and enjoyed a seat at a sidebar with a window view. Everything was delicious and I left with a sense of optimism. If a man who obviously loved burgers could spread that love from an abandoned community centre in a remote corner in Jeju then food made with love could trump location and build community.
