While sunset in Seoul is always a masterpiece, the golden hour viewed from the Ihwa Dalpaengi-gil, tucked beneath the Naksan Fortress wall, holds a uniquely poetic charm. Located right on this path, ‘Yeosu Seodae’ is more than just a restaurant; it is a destination that gifts its guests with both unforgettable vistas and profound flavors. Upon entering, the first thing that captures the eye is the sophisticated antique interior. The tastefully arranged decor and warm lighting create a cozy ambiance, making one feel as though they’ve been invited into a long-cherished study or a private villa. Dining against the backdrop of the sky slowly deepening into twilight felt like a luxury surpassing even the most extravagant banquets. The Seodae-hoe (raw gingerly-seasoned sole) I sampled was a highlight, showcasing the freshness and savory depth characteristic of southern Korean cuisine. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, allowing the natural texture of the fish to shine. The Assorted Oden followed, with its rich, deep broth providing a comforting warmth to both body and soul. While the food was exceptional, what truly stood out was the owner’s thoughtful and gracious service. Their genuine hospitality added a layer of warmth that elevated the entire experience. The best place we had dinner! The place itself, the view, the surroundings, the food, the lovely lady cooking. Everything! It's a must visit during your stay in Seoul. After a stroll in the area, go for a meal here.
