This is my parents' favorite local spot that we always visit whenever we come to their hometown. It is the best value-for-money sashimi restaurant I’ve ever been to. We visited for lunch on a weekend without a reservation, and luckily there was plenty of seating. We ordered the Large size for four people, and the food served surprisingly fast. The portion size was mind-blowing. At other restaurants, even a "Large" can feel a bit small, making you feel self-conscious about eating too much. Here, we ate to our heart's content without any worries, and there was still so much left over that we ended up packing the rest to take home. The side dishes were simple—kimchi, seaweed (miyeok-gwi), and braised fish—but every single one was delicious. They also provide lettuce and cabbage; the lettuce was homegrown, so it was incredibly fresh. Personally, I love sesame leaves, so I was a tiny bit sad they didn't have any, but the quality of everything else made up for it. A little tip: try tearing the lettuce into a bowl with the cabbage, add the sashimi and some chogochujang (red chili-pepper paste with vinegar) and mix it all together. It’s absolutely delicious! The Maeuntang (spicy fish stew) was also a highlight. It wasn't too salty or overly spicy—the seasoning was just perfect. I finished a whole bowl of rice with it. The owner and her family are very kind and attentive. It really has that warm, generous "countryside hospitality" feel. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by!
