I’ve never seen such terrible customer service anywhere else. The restaurant was empty—not a single person inside—but they didn’t have a single table available. They probably didn’t want to bother with foreigners. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hygiene Violations and Racist Intimidation at Woo Mool Zip Hongdae On December 29, 2025, I visited Woo Mool Zip Hongdae without a reservation and was assigned Room 305 by the receptionist. Upon entering, I was immediately overwhelmed by a strong, foul odor resembling rotting meat. This raised grave concerns about the restaurant’s hygiene standards and the freshness of the food being served. I attempted to raise this issue with a nearby waitress. Unfortunately, she did not understand English and summoned another staff member. The second waitress, also struggling with communication, dismissively told me: “Other rooms have reservation, can’t help you.” Her tone was rude, unprofessional, and showed no willingness to address a legitimate hygiene concern. As the odor was unbearable, we decided not to dine there and began leaving. Shockingly, the waitress followed me to the stairs, raising her voice and arguing aggressively. I asked her to stop and stated I would speak directly with the receptionist. At the reception, I explained that Room 305 smelled foul and that we were leaving. Instead of acknowledging the issue, a male staff member beside the receptionist shouted at me in Korean: “Hey, I don’t serve you.” His behavior was hostile, intimidating, and unacceptable. When I stepped outside to take photos of the restaurant exterior for documentation, the same man followed us, began taking photos of us, and spoke in hostile Korean. I perceived this as threatening behavior. Such conduct is not only unprofessional but also deeply concerning for customer safety. Key Issues • Hygiene: Room 305 reeked of rotten meat, raising serious questions about food safety. • Customer Service: Staff displayed rude, dismissive, and aggressive behavior, escalating the situation instead of resolving it. • Intimidation and Racism: A male staff member attempted to threaten me by yelling and photographing us. Because we did not speak Korean, we were treated with contempt, which constitutes discriminatory behavior. I am filing this complaint to warn future visitors to Seoul about the unacceptable hygiene and customer service standards at Woo Mool Zip Hongdae. Travelers deserve safe, respectful, and hygienic dining experiences. What I encountered was the opposite: unsanitary conditions, hostility, and intimidation. I strongly urge relevant authorities and the public to take note of this incident. Dining establishments must be held accountable for both their hygiene practices and the way they treat customers. I have also contacted the authorities to raise public awareness of this incident, which involves racism and threats to personal safety while traveling in Korea. I will not tolerate such behavior and will escalate this matter to the media. After reviewing Google reviews, I discovered that at least two other customers reported similar experiences at this restaurant involving the same male staff member’s rude and racist conduct. Clearly, this is not an isolated incident, and I am not the only victim. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
