The Joy of Discovering a Local Coffee Roaster: Namwoo Coffee Roasting House in Deokso When driving along Route 6 toward Seoul from the Yangsuri and Paldang areas, you pass through Deokso, a town adjacent to the Han River. While commonly referred to as Deokso, places like Dogok, Deokso, and Paldang are actually villages belonging to Wabu-eup. Taking a turn off the main road toward Dogok and driving for about 5 minutes into downtown Dogok-ri, you will come across **Namwoo Coffee Roasting House**. Right in front of the building is a small park adjacent to an apartment complex, and there is a paid parking lot right next to the building, which offers **2 hours of free parking** for cafe customers. The cafe building itself has a slightly vintage charm and consists of two floors. Inside, the roasting machine and handmade desserts (mostly cakes) give off an impression that the quality of both the coffee and desserts is top-notch. After visiting Dumulmeori early in the morning to see the lotus flowers, I searched for today's coffee spot on my way back to Seoul and stumbled upon this place. As usual, we ordered a café latte and an americano, opting for coffee beans with a bright acidity. The americano had a truly impressive aroma (made with their signature Ethiopian blend), while the latte featured a fantastic balance between the bright, fruity notes of the beans and the rich, savory milk. Even my partner, a self-proclaimed "latte connoisseur," approved of the taste. Local residents seemed to drop by continuously. In particular, because the cafe is dog-friendly, people bringing their pets caught my eye. Since the drive in and out from the main road (Route 6) takes only about 5 minutes, it is an easy and worthwhile detour when traveling to and from Yangsuri or Yangpyeong. On top of that, the small park right in front is said to be filled with beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, making the cafe a worthy destination in its own right. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
