The food was amazing at Premium Montrak. We did not have to wait long for our seats, and the service was good. We used a tablet to order our food, which made the process easy and convenient. The only downside was that the staff were not very social with customers. I think they could interact more with customers to create a more welcoming experience. Price per person: ₩80,000–90,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We dined at Mont Rak (참숯구이몬트락) in Jeju, a restaurant known for its charcoal-grilled meats — and it turned out to be a satisfying BBQ experience. The moment the charcoal grill was set up, you could already smell that distinct smoky aroma that makes Korean BBQ so irresistible. The meat quality was solid, especially the pork cuts, which were fresh and nicely marbled. Grilling over real charcoal made a noticeable difference — the heat caramelized the edges beautifully while keeping the inside juicy. That subtle smoky flavor added depth you don’t quite get with gas grills. The side dishes were generous and complemented the meat well. Wrap the grilled pork in lettuce with garlic and sauce, and it’s a perfect bite. Service was attentive, and the staff helped with grilling to ensure the meat was cooked just right. Overall, Mont Rak is a great option in Jeju if you’re craving proper charcoal-grilled BBQ — hearty, flavorful, and very satisfying after a day of exploring the island.
