Had spicy braised short ribs at Jipsin Maeun Galbijjim, and it’s one of those places that looks simple but hits hard. The concept is straightforward: choose pork or beef ribs, then pick a spice level from 1 to 5. No complicated menu, just focused on doing one thing well. I went for level 3 thinking I could handle it—and it starts off fine—but the heat builds up quickly. The ribs are incredibly tender, falling apart easily and fully soaked in the spicy sauce. It’s the kind of dish where you definitely need rice to balance everything out. What surprised me most is how addictive it is. Even while sweating a bit from the spice, you just keep going because the flavour is really good. Level 5 looks like serious “final boss” difficulty—I’m not ready for that yet. Overall, simple concept, great execution, and very satisfying if you like spicy Korean food. Just don’t underestimate the spice levels. We looked for dinner which contains pork and we found this one near our hotel. It is pork rib stew with beansprouts. And we ordered egg tofu (or custard) to ease spiciness. One of the staffs demonstrated suggested we ordered too much food, we dropped the other item. Great food, good service and satisfied. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Order type: Dine in Price per person: ₩20,000–30,000
