On our second day in Busan, before setting off to explore further, Kitty and I went for a walk around our hotel neighbourhood hoping to find a place serving warm porridge. We followed Kakao Map to this building, as it showed a porridge shop here previously. However, we could not find it, and it looks as though the spot has been taken over by this Lotteria restaurant instead. We decided to give it a try for an easy breakfast. I ordered the rice burger set, and Kitty chose the signature burger, which was clearly marked on the menu as the most popular and top rated choice here. My rice burger was quite unique. Instead of a normal bun, it uses pressed sticky rice, which has a soft and slightly chewy texture. It felt somewhat like a regular burger at first bite, but with the addition of fresh lettuce, creamy sauce and filling, the overall taste was really nice and satisfying. Kitty’s burger stood out even more. It comes with a striking dark charcoal bun, filled with juicy beef, crispy bacon, fresh onion and rich barbecue sauce. It looked very special and tasted every bit as good as its reputation suggested. Even though the burgers themselves were nice, we are giving this place a 3 star rating based on two main factors. Firstly, the fries were already cold when served. Secondly, my caffe latte was only lukewarm, which was disappointing. Kitty’s hot chocolate was however served piping hot. We also noticed that they do not provide any chilli sauce here, and it seems this is quite common across fast food restaurants in Korea. One important thing to note is that the toilet here has a keypad lock. The PIN code can be found printed clearly on your receipt. The total bill came to 20,100 won, which we thought was reasonable. The restaurant is clean, simple and conveniently located inside Cheongtap Building, very close to many hotels and main streets. It is a practical spot, but the small issues with temperature stopped us from giving a higher score. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
