Great service, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were patient and polite, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The kimchi fried rice is a must-try—flavourful and really well done. The place is also beautifully decorated, adding to the overall dining experience. Definitely worth a visit. This is my favorite Western brunch establishment in Hongdae. Choices for breakfast during the early mornings in this area are sparse - the vast majority of places in Hongdae open after 10:30am, or even 11:00. Most visitors who don't know any better might resort to 24 hour convenience store food, or a run to Starbucks, if they're peckish enough. But CAFE THEN AND THERE is a genuinely great option, and now you know about it, too. With a variety of English and American options (and kimchi fried rice if you insist on having something vaguely Asian), you'll find something to enjoy. Ingredients taste fresh, and the food is well-presented, if a little decadent (seek healthier options elsewhere!). THEN AND THERE also offers beer, coffee, tea, and cakes. The big, open windows that face the road and the color palette lend themselves well to the atmosphere. There is plenty of seating available for medium-sized parties of 2-8 people. It's perfect for killing an hour or two chit-chatting with a friend, procrastinating on your laptop, or burying your nose in a book. The cashiers/waitresses are fast, attentive, and polite. Give it a chance if you can! Price per person: ₩10,000–20,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: There is one sandwich option that has no meat. If you want something else, you should ask if you can remove, or substitute meat products for other ingredients. (The Potato and Egg sandwich, for example, only has a strip or two of bacon). Dietary restrictions: Not gluten-free or celiac friendly ;-; check the gluten-free in Korea Facebook group!
