If you are exploring the Hanok Village, Pungnyeon Cafe (풍년카페) is the best place to take a break. It combines the history of Jeonju’s most famous bakery with a welcoming, cozy cafe vibe. The Highlights: The Choco Pie Flight: We tried a variety of their handmade pies. The Original and "Real Choco" are classics for a reason, but the Matcha and White Choco versions were surprisingly delicious and not overly sweet. They have a unique "cookie-cake" texture with crunchy walnuts and strawberry jam that you just can't find anywhere else. Perfect Latte: The latte was high-quality with a very thick, creamy foam. It’s the ideal bitter-smooth balance to pair with the rich chocolate of the pies. Wonderful Service: The owner was incredibly nice and made us feel right at home. In a busy tourist area like the Hanok Village, having such a kind and personal interaction made the visit stand out. Tip: It’s a great spot to buy your souvenir boxes without the massive crowds at the main street branches. You can sit, enjoy your coffee, and then pick up a few boxes of mini-choco pies to take home.
