This place serves 'old-style' Tonkatsu—thin, crispy fried pork. This is exactly how the dish was served in what Koreans called 'Light Western Restaurants' (Gyeong-yang-sik) during the 1970s and 80s, when Tonkatsu was an incredibly popular treat. Following that tradition, the meal starts with soup and warm bread. The Tonkatsu itself is thin, covered in a familiar savory sauce, and served with a side of shredded cabbage. The restaurant is tiny and feels very authentic. Don’t expect thick, modern 'high-quality' Tonkatsu; instead, come here if you want to see how Koreans first experienced Western-style food. Such a cute authentic restaurant. Love it ! Threw me back into my childhood !! The Donkatsu taste i remember eating in front of Donkatsu places in front of my elementary school. But also the cute little plastic water bottle, the dishes where the food was served, morning roll, which is served warm with a cute little strawberry jam, the cream soup, which is typical of the 90s ... all these things reminded me of my childhood!
