It’s rare to find a classic Chinese restaurant in 청당동 that isn’t overpriced or dressed up in “gourmet” packaging—this place is a refreshing exception. Tucked away yet surprisingly easy to find, it looks quite spacious from the outside, but inside it’s small, cozy, and welcoming. I ordered 잡채밥 and 팔보채, both of which were solid. They came with a side of 짬뽕 soup, which was flavorful enough to hint that the full 짬뽕 would be worth coming back for. I even added some rice from the 잡채밥 into the soup and made myself a mini 짬뽕밥—it worked beautifully. They also served us fried dumplings on the house, and they were a standout.
