Cozy place by the sea. Vibe is good. We ordered pizza. Almost empty restaurant and we still had to wait 30 min. The pizza looked and tasted like frozen pizza, à la Grandiosa style. Maybe the other food is good, this was not. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿200–400 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Haad Yao is one of my favorite beaches on Koh Phangan, and Amara is the perfect oasis to spend a relaxing afternoon. Their cocktails have always been fantastic, but today I finally tried the food and I was genuinely blown away. Everything is made fresh to order, which is surprisingly rare and really sets this place apart. I have a coconut allergy, and this is the first restaurant I’ve found that happily accommodated me by making a curry without coconut milk. That alone earned my trust, but the food itself exceeded all expectations. I had the Massaman curry and it was absolutely phenomenal. It was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The papaya salad was also incredibly fresh and delicious. A special shoutout to Max, who was an outstanding host. He is warm, attentive, and speaks excellent English, which made a big difference in helping me feel confident about my allergy. He took the time to answer all my questions and made sure everything was safe. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. I am honestly so excited to finally be able to enjoy Thai dishes I have been avoiding because of my allergy. I am already coming back for dinner tonight to try the khao soi. Thank you to Max and the whole team for such a welcoming and accommodating experience. Highly recommend!
