Recently tried out this little restaurant @amoy_wanchai tucked away on Amoy Street in Wanchai. They serve reasonably priced lunch sets ranging from around hkd 70-100 including a main and a drink. Apparently the chef has once worked in a 5-star hotel! There are 6 choices of lunch sets, mostly hk-style western food. Moroccan lamb tagine with rice: interested to see this on the menu as I haven’t seen this dish since visiting Morocco last September. However, the dish was not presented in a tagine Also, the sauce was similar to a Bourguignon sauce. Tho not exactly matching the menu description, the lamb itself was soft and not gamey. Overall a good lamb dish if you are a fan of lamb. Grilled sirloin steak with rice with black pepper sauce: the sirloin was grilled on point, slightly crispy on the outside and tender inside. Compared to local hk style black pepper sauce, this one is more runny and lighter, so you won’t feel too hit by the heavy taste afterwards. Chicken and creamy mushroom sauce with pasta: love the real creamy sauce fully loaded with sliced mushrooms, the chicken steak was juicy and grilled nicely. If the main isn’t enough for you, you can also add a side order of pork chop, lamb rack, or steak for ~hkd 30-40 only, quite a good deal! We got a side order of steak and the portion was same as the one we ordered fro the lunch set. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
