As a continuous name on the Asia’s top 50 bars, I was excited to try Bar Mood out for myself and see how good it was. The menu was very interesting and diverse with many uncommon ingredients incorporated such as fried shallot, edamame, sweet basil and others. The drinks were very refreshing and unique (sweet basil and fried shallot ones ordered) that brought out the aromatics of its special ingredients. However there were some that tasted nothing special and others that were way too sweet and not to our liking. I was quite disappointed in the atmosphere and service there. We were seated on a sofa with 2 tables which we had to share with other guests although we already reserved for a group of 5, it didn’t really make for a comfortable experience to unwind and chat. Additionally, they were very strict about the dining time which was valid as it was a weekend albeit annoying as the waiters kept coming up to our table to hurriedly collect our glasses which were not yet even finished. Although the drinks were nice, I wouldn’t say I’d be eager to come back here as the ambience and service sadly weren’t enjoyable. Price per person: $400–600 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
