I had a wonderful experience at Bastille Bakery. The entire setting is incredibly warm and welcoming, making it the perfect, cozy spot to sit back and relax. Along with their fantastic bakes, their hot drinks are really good—properly brewed, flavorful, and served at the perfect temperature. It’s a wonderful neighborhood gem with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by! Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $1–10

We happened to pass by this café, and it looked very attractive from the outside, so we decided to have lunch here instead of waiting for the Vietnamese bánh mì next door. Unfortunately, the staff were not friendly, and the food was really overpriced. I had high expectations for the $15 shortcake, but the cream was melting and mixed together with the compote inside the cake, which made it quite unpleasant. Not to mention, the compote tasted like cough syrup. The biscuit underneath the shortcake was extremely hard and overly sweet. I tried eating everything together to balance out the rich, melting cream and mousse on top, but the biscuit was so hard that I couldn’t even cut through it properly. The quiche looked yummy, but the tart crust was not crispy at all. The croissant also looked amazing, but unfortunately some bites tasted floury, and the crust was slightly dry.
