タイでハラルのインド系レストラン AL RAYAN (Alif Laila by Bawarchi) に行きました。
お店の前にいたスタッフの方がとても気さくで、その人柄に惹かれて入店を決めました。
価格は特別高い印象はなく、量はスタンダードと言われましたが、実際はかなり多く、少食ではない私たちでも食べきれないほどでした。 特にカレーが本当においしく、ラム肉は驚くほど柔らかくてホロホロでした。
日本では、ここまで大きくて柔らかいお肉がドーンと入ったカレーはなかなか食べられないと思います。
次はもっとお腹を空かした状態で来たいと本気で思いました。 トマトパスタのような料理は、日本でいう喫茶店のナポリタンに近い食感で、麺が少しモチモチしていながらもコシがあり、不思議とクセになる味でした。
辛さも選べて、今回はスタンダードのミディアムを選びましたが、ちょうど良かったです。 たまたま入ったお店でしたが、とてもおいしく、良い経験になりました。
お腹が空ききっていなかったため食べきれず申し訳なかったですが、味には大満足です。
スタッフのAliさんがとても親切で丁寧で、インド人ではない私たちにも分かりやすく対応してくれました。
タイ語も話せるそうで、とてもマルチな方だと感じました。
Aliさんを含めて、お店全体をおすすめできます。 2人で1,900バーツ。
ドリンクは頼まずフードのみです。
日本人の感覚では少し高めに感じるかもしれませんが、内容を考えると納得で、日本基準では高級なインド料理だと思います。
とにかくおいしかったのは間違いありません。 I visited AL RAYAN (Alif Laila by Bawarchi), a halal Indian restaurant in Thailand.
The staff member standing outside was very friendly, and his personality made us decide to go in.
The prices didn’t feel especially high, and although the portions were described as standard, they were actually quite large—so much that we couldn’t finish everything. The curry was outstanding, especially the lamb, which was incredibly soft and tender.
It’s rare to find curry in Japan with such large, melt-in-your-mouth pieces of meat.
Next time, I definitely want to come when I’m much hungrier. One of the tomato-based dishes reminded me of Japanese-style Napolitan pasta, with slightly chewy noodles that still had a nice bite.
You can choose the spice level, and we selected medium, which was just right. We happened to find this place by chance, but it turned out to be a great and memorable experience.
Although we couldn’t finish everything, the food was truly delicious.
Ali, one of the staff members, was extremely kind and attentive, and made us feel very welcome despite us not being Indian.
He even speaks Thai, which impressed us.
Both Ali and the restaurant itself are easy to recommend. The total was 1,900 baht for two people, food only, no drinks.
It may feel a bit expensive by Japanese standards, but the quality makes it feel like high-end Indian cuisine.
