Visited Brains and Brawn at Hamilton Road recently and had a pretty good experience overall. The cold brew was smooth and refreshing, though I did feel it was a little pricey at $11. On the food side, the avocado and chicken sando was really good . Was fresh, well-balanced, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. Nice cafe vibe and a comfortable spot to chill or catch up with friends.

Brawn & Brains is a great spot for a solo brunch. I dropped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was pleasantly not too crowded. The space is bright and spacious with plenty of seating, lots of natural light, and a clean minimalist feel. I had the Signature Oven Baked Molten Eggs ($23) and it was easily one of the best brunch dishes I’ve had. Beautifully plated and generously portioned, with two perfectly runny eggs over a tortilla, topped with melted cheese, avocado, smoked salmon, crispy bacon, salad, and whole-wheat toast on the side. Every component was well executed, and the crispy cheese crust really pulled the whole dish together. Sinful but very satisfying and easily shareable if you’re a lighter eater. The Cappuccino ($6) was solid too, nutty, smooth, and made with a double shot of ristretto. Nice foam finish, and it came with a couple of crunchy biscotti on the side, which was a nice touch.

Oldie but goldie. We’ve been patronizing them since their Guillemard outlet. Impressed with their consistency over the years, almost everything is done in-house, friendly service and unpretentious vibe. And to me still the best coffee in Singapore.
