Standards have dropped a lot. Pictured are their pulled pork benedicts from (1) their menu; (2) today (7 June 2026), and (3) my visit on 3 May 2025. I had to raise to the staff how ridiculous the smear of avocado on the bread looked before being given a separate plate of avocado. I understand that food costs are rising and it’s difficult for F&B businesses generally, but at least make the picture more accurate and/or don’t skimp on the portion to this extent la. Visited Bread Yard recently and ordered the toast with egg & mushroom together with a matcha latte. The presentation was nice and the café has a cosy atmosphere that makes it pleasant for a slow brunch or coffee break. The matcha latte was smooth and decent, although nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the main dish was rather underwhelming. The toast portion was surprisingly tiny and definitely not filling for the price point. After finishing the meal, I still felt hungry and ended up needing another snack shortly after. In terms of flavour, the toast with egg & mushroom tasted average — not bad, but not something I would specially return for either. The ingredients felt quite basic and lacked the richness or creativity I was expecting from a café known for brunch offerings. Service was alright and the space itself is comfortable, but overall the experience did not quite justify the cost. I think Bread Yard has potential, especially for coffee and ambience, but the food portions and flavour could definitely be improved to make the dining experience more satisfying. The food is very worth for money, as the brunch menu was reasonably priced and yummy! Their matcha was good too!!! Staff was friendly and gave good service! It was too early for pasta so we had the brunch menu and it surely didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to go back another time to try their other food!
