We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and we understand your disappointment, especially since you were hoping to get a cake for a special occasion.We’d like to explain a little more about our sliced cake policy. Once a whole cake has been sliced, each portion goes through individual handling. The pricing for slices takes into account the additional labour and the extra time required for preparation and presentation involved.Also, from an inventory and sales tracking perspective, whole cakes and sliced portions are entered and managed as separate stock items in our POS system. Once a cake has been portioned and recorded as individual slices, it cannot be reclassified or sold as a whole cake again. This allows us to maintain accuracy in our stock control.We’re also sorry to hear about your interaction with our staff that day. It’s never our intention for any customer to feel dismissed or unimportant. We recognise that the explanation of our policy may have come across as abrupt or lacking in warmth and it’s a good reminder for us that while policies are important, how we communicate them matters just as much.We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope we’ll have the chance to serve you better next time.
