Chef Recipe at Anchorvale offers a tempting array of affordable Western fare. I decided to try their Signature Double Cheese Chicken ($9.90), based on recommendations. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the double cheese topping was generous and added a nice richness definitely a highlight of the meal. However, the experience wasn't perfect. The side dishes potato wedges and pan-fried mushrooms were served lukewarm, detracting from the overall enjoyment. Warm, crispy wedges would have significantly improved the dish. The mushrooms lacked seasoning or depth of flavor. The portion size was decent for the price, and the service was reasonably quick and polite. The casual coffeeshop setting is fine for a quick and easy meal. Overall, Chef Recipe provides a satisfying, if somewhat unremarkable, Western meal. The tender chicken and generous cheese make it a worthwhile option, but the slightly disappointing lukewarm sides prevent it from achieving a higher rating.
