Having been run since 1986, Chili Club is a legendary 40-year-old restaurant offering classic Thai comfort food. You may not spot it easily since it is located on the first floor of King Tao Building on Lockhart Road. After reaching the restaurant, you may not be impressed by its basic, low-key, and casual setting. Yet, it is the quality of food that has made Chili Club a long-standing favourite in the neighborhood. The prawn with chili curry is definitely a vivid demonstration of the kitchen's mastery of balancing rich flavors. Specifically speaking, it offers a delicate balance of a slight sweetness with a powerful aromatic punch. The sauce is thick, savory, and creamy strongly resembling the famous Singaporean chili crab sauce profile. Another outstanding dish is the famous Steamed Fish on a Stove Tray with lime, chili, and garlic. It arrived at our table in a fish-shaped platter set over a flame, allowing it to simmer continuously. If you are also a fan of a restaurant with unpretentious vibe serving generous portions and highly authentic, reasonably-priced food, Chili Club is worth your further exploration!
