The foods is good but just the waitress keep asking to collect the plates while we haven’t finish yet. It’s quite annoying as we’re actually enjoying slow-down mode for holiday.( we went for the lunch on saturday and there is no queue for the table, 70% empty table at that moment. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $450–500

The food is absolutely fantastic. I’ve just relocated from the UK. I heard there are more staff on weekends, but it’s quieter with fewer customers on Wednesdays, which works better for me. Be prepared for a steep hill if you’re coming from Central on foot. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $250–300

If you’re looking for a spot in Central that nails both the vibe and the flavors, Chutney Tandoor House on Wyndham Street is a solid pick. The interior has this modern, elevated Indian aesthetic—spacious and dimly lit enough to feel private, making it a great place to decompress after a long week. The menu leans into contemporary Indian cuisine with a focus on refined textures. We started with the Raj Kachori, which is essentially a crispy shell packed with a mix of sweet, tangy, and spicy fillings. It’s a great palate cleanser to kick things off. The Tandoori Octopus was another highlight; the char from the tandoor gives it a lovely smokiness, yet the meat remains tender and bouncy rather than chewy. For mains, the Chicken Biryani arrived fragrant and perfectly steamed. The rice grains were fluffy and well-separated, with the spices deeply infused into the chicken. It’s a comforting, substantial dish that's ideal for sharing. To pair with the bold spices, we went with a couple of glasses of Deinhard Green Label Riesling. The slight sweetness and crisp acidity of the wine cut through the richness of the curry and tandoor dishes perfectly, making the whole meal feel a bit lighter. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you can just sit back and enjoy a slow dinner without feeling rushed.
