Speechless. Easily the best dining experience I've had in recent years. Food was amazing, but moreso Fabien's service and practicality in making the best experience tailored to you. Beautiful. Thank you for your hard work. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

You won’t find much about this restaurant online beyond the reviews and it may not appear on your concierge’s list. That’s part of what makes discovering it so special. Chef Fabien was born into a restaurant family and grew up surrounded by good food. His journey has since taken him through Spain, Belgium, London, Hawaii and beyond before eventually settling in Thailand. You can feel those experiences here but what makes the restaurant memorable is how deeply personal everything is. The location is a little remote, yet once you arrive, it feels less like entering a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Every detail feels meticulously considered by Fabien, all the way down to each music track playing throughout the evening. Nothing feels manufactured or designed by committee. The food is excellent, and I say that having been fortunate enough to eat everywhere from The French Laundry to Noma. But this place is about more than what arrives on the plate. The experience itself is not to be missed. Fabien’s hospitality is genuinely unique. The closest comparison I can think of is visiting a high end boutique and having the atelier designer personally guide you through everything he created. There is an intimacy and pride here that is increasingly difficult to find. Some chefs serve you a meal. The rare ones leave you with a memory you can taste years later. An absolute must visit in Koh Samui. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ฿1–200

Clandestino Koh Samui is an absolute gem and, without any doubt, the best restaurant experience in Koh Samui and by a very wide margin. Everything is homemade by the chef, with an incredible level of care, creativity, and attention to detail. Each dish feels thoughtful, refined, and deeply authentic, far beyond what you would expect on the island. The flavors are outstanding, the ingredients are top quality, and you can truly feel the passion behind every plate. More than just a meal, it’s a holistic experience: intimate, warm, and genuinely special. A place you don’t just “try once,” but one you remember as a highlight of your trip. If you are in Koh Samui and don’t go to Clandestino, you are missing something truly exceptional. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Price per person: ฿1,400–1,600
