16:30のアフタヌーンティーを予約し訪れると、1時間くらいしてから「夕食の準備があるから後10分で出ていってほしい」と言われました。高いお金を払っているのに、このサービスはあり得ませんし、そもそもそんなことを客に頼むくらいなら16:30のアフタヌーンティー予約なんて受け付けなければいいと思います。サービスの質も決して良くなく、予約し、空いていたにも関わらず、回廊側に座らせてもらえませんでした。本当に最低な店です。ガッカリしないためにも、この店は利用しないことを強くお勧めします. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

After reading the recent negative reviews, I was quite prejudiced going in. I was so ready to write another negative review. My expectations were so low. And I was blown away. A lot of high highs, and a couple of lows. First, the highs: 1. SECRET KING CRAB LEGS. See the photos. Somehow, either due to a kitchen mix up or a deliberate secret drop, the staff unloaded a bunch of king crab legs amidst the snow crabs. I thought only the ($900) Hotel Icon buffet had them, but the Clipper Lounge surprised me a lot. 2. HAINAN CHICKEN. Warm, slippery, and basically as good as Cafe Causette. And you get all the sweet soy sauce you want. 3. DELICIOUS DESSERTS. The small nut tart is mildly sweet and pleasingly chewy and gooey in equal measure. Orange sorbet is a standout: minimal sugar with faint hints of rind and zest. All the chocolate truffles and nuts you can eat. 4. TEA/COFFEE included: same quality as afternoon tea drinks. The hot chocolate is nice. 5. SALMON SASHIMI. Almost forgot this. A bunch of the salmon is actually salmon belly. And they are as flavorful and fresh as any I’ve had. The lows: 1. The chilled abalone is completely tasteless (but the one-per-person braised abalone on orzo is fantastic). The Boston lobsters are quite small and a bit tough. Fresh, though. 2. Some of the crab (both snow and king) taste like they’ve been soaked in brine. Very salty. That said, the meat is firm and fresh.compared with, say, Hopewell Hotel. 3. Kids over three years old cost either $588 or same as adult if you use the coupon. The OK: Staff were very friendly and eager to serve, but could be a bit clueless. When we asked about kid pricing (since the coupon didn’t cover the kid), our waiter had to ask another waiter, who had to ask a manager, and then the second waiter came back to tell us, got confused, and had to find the manager again when we asked if the braised abalone applied to the kid. You do have to line up, since reception starts 5 minutes before your time slot. But it moves fast and they have 2-3 staff with iPads to register guests. Note: We used the “Buy 1 get 1 free but only half the dining time” internet offer: 6:00-8:00 pm. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: HK$500+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: It’s a buffet. Dietary restrictions: It’s a buffet.
